I started to try animating, at first using the same idea behind the Gewalt image.



I made this, which repeats indefinitely, fitting the message quite well. I think it looks a bit too simple, but I didn't mind that since at this stage I was just messing around to see what I could make.



I did notice that by playing around with what layers are visible, it created a still image that I did like a lot more. It has a more chaotic sense of controlled randomness, and I think the jagged aggressive tone fits well with the narrative of the RAF embodying a cycle of violence.




I then took that still image and played around with it, turning that into a couple of short animations

I prefer the second to the first, I think it has a more developed visual style, and I like how experimentally different it gets from its original roots. However, by going so different with it, it loses some of the original context and relevance to the RAF.
